A SAM Assessment Engagement provides you with an appraisal of the maturity of your organization’s SAM processes using the SAM Optimization Model framework. The model highlights SAM strengths, weaknesses, and areas of opportunity. You will receive a report and recommendations developed based on data provided by key contacts within your organization via questionnaires, interviews, and either an on-site or remote validation depending on which best meets your needs.

A SAM Assessment Engagement will help you:

  • Document and define existing SAM processes
  • Identify the risks and benefits associated with current SAM maturity levels
  • Build a business case for recommended process improvements and associated ROI
  • Become informed about process improvement areas available to you that are enabled by deployment and adoption of items commonly covered in Enterprise Agreements
    • Ex: Microsoft SharePoint, eCAL Suite, System Center or MDOP

Steps

1.) Inputs
Inviso will collect the following types of inputs:

  • Conduct interviews with stakeholders within your organization to assess current processes and level of SAM maturity
  • If you have multiple locations or divisions, we will reach out to a stakeholder for each location or division
  • Current organizational diagrams
  • Recent SAM reports that have been created for internal stakeholders
  • Current software and hardware inventories, if available
  • List of approved software titles and approved suppliers, if available
  • Current SAM Improvement Plan, if available

2.) Analysis
Using the collected inputs, Inviso will then:

  • Aggregate data from the questionnaires
  • Review and validate the information provided
  • Measure your SAM maturity in ten key competency areas
  • Review and reach agreement with you on your current SAM maturity based on the information provided

3.) Final Report Presentation
In the final step, Inviso will provide you with a final SAM Assessment Report that includes an executive summary and details related to the SAM Assessment engagement, findings and recommendations. The report will include:

  • Introduction
  • Background
  • Engagement scope
  • SAM maturity levels for each key competency area
  • Details of why key performance indicators were or were not met
  • Risks involved with current SAM maturity levels
  • Recommendations on future state and associated benefits
  • Business case and estimated ROI for making recommended improvements

In addition, you will receive an executive presentation which provides a high-level overview of the engagement and findings with an emphasis on the risks and benefits of your current and future state as well as the business case to initiate improvements to SAM. The presentation will include:

  • Introduction
  • Background
  • Engagement scope
  • Overview of current SAM maturity levels
  • Risks involved with current SAM maturity levels
  • Recommendations on future state and associated benefits
